Ketamine treatment plan for depression

There are many times in life when solutions to a problem are not ‘one size fits all’. What works for one person simply doesn’t always work for another, and in certain cases, there are large group of people who are left floundering, simply because they don’t fit ‘the norm’.

What is the ‘norm’ anyway? We are all individual, and that means we all respond to all situations in life totally differently.

If you are a sufferer of depression, and you have been for a long time, you have probably tried antidepressant medications, perhaps even more than one. For many people, this treatment route works, but for many others, it simply doesn’t. What are those people supposed to do?

Thankfully, there is another option at hand, and here at Trifeca Health, we are dedicated to helping those who simply don’t respond to antidepressants. Under the watchful eye of NYC Psychiatrist  Dr Edward Fruitman, M.D., we offer a Ketamine treatment plan for depression which is resistant to antidepressant medication.

First things first however, why is it that some people simply don’t tolerate antidepressants?

Regular antidepressants can take a while to work, and that could mean that the sufferer simply can’t wait long enough for the relief effects to work. On top of this, there are often side effects which come attached to these medications, and whilst many people can deal with them, not everyone can. If the effects are prolonged and unpleasant, this can have a counteracting effect on the person’s depression too, which makes them feel even more down, and even more hopeless. It’s a vicious circle.

The key to treating depression is to get the right balance for each individual person. Here at Trifecta Health, we recognise the key role that Ketamine has to play in depression relief. This is an old anaesthetic medication, but it has been shown to help relieve depression symptoms quite quickly in patients who have had no joy or response in the past to regular antidepressant medications.

Of course, Ketamine is a strong drug, and should only be taken in a controlled and regimented manner. For that reason, those patients who we believe could benefit from taking Ketamine for their depression symptoms are put onto a strict treatment plan, which is monitored and reviewed on a regular basis. Many patients also find relief of their symptoms to some degree around 24-48 hours after their first treatment, and if nothing occurs during this time, that is a strong indicator that Ketamine is not the right option for that particular person. The fact that the drug is so fast acting is therefore what makes it so impressive.

The bottom line here is that anyone struggling with depression should not be struggling alone. Antidepressant medications are not effective for everyone, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have another road to look down. We are committed to helping sufferers of unresponsive depression, and we have several treatment options to discuss. If this sounds like something that you would like to discuss further, don’t hesitate to give us a call today.

Help is Closer Than You Realize!

No matter who you are, it’s harder to ask for help than many people give credit for. Whether it’s out of pride, worry, fear, or something else entirely, saying the words ‘help me’ is one of the hardest things for a human to do.

Here at Trifecta Health in New York we are under no illusions about this subject, and whenever someone reaches out to us for assistance, we deal with it in the most sympathetic and proactive method possible. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Edward Fruitman, M.D. we offer a huge range of services across a variety of different subject matters.

But, first things first, how do you utter those immortal words?

Nobody is going to accept help until they are ready, and it’s often said that you will know it when the time comes. How do you recognize this? Perhaps a true feeling of desperation, a willingness to accept anything that makes you feel better, not being able to see a light but desperately wanting to do so. These are all signs that the time is coming, and when it comes, you are certainly not alone.

The good news is that you do not have to travel too far to venture to one of Trifecta Health NYC offices, to gain that all-important assistance that will put you on the road to recovery. Whether you are struggling with adult attention deficit disorder (ADD/ ADHD), depression and anxiety, weight issues, substance and alcohol misuse, or something else entirely, we have four offices which are strategically located to be in close distance to everyone who needs our expert help.

We have an office in Downtown, on Broadway to be specific ( 115 Broadway, Suite 1300, New York, NY 10006. Tel: (212) 233-2830) , another in Midtown (1430 Broadway, Suite 900, New York, NY 10018. Tel: (212) 302-1848) , one in Central Park West (415 Central Park West, Suite 1AF, New York, NY 10025. Tel: (917) 745-3885), and earlier this year we opened our Park Avenue office ( 30 E 60th Street, Suite 2403, New York, NY 10022. Tel: (212) 233-2838), which means that no matter where you’re residing, and no matter where you’re working, help is only within a quick drive or stone’s throw away from you.

Why Alcohol is Never The Answer

alcohol addictionThese days we all live rather stressful lives, and whilst some people have this stress much more than others, many of us struggle to cope. While trying to find a way through it all, we turn to methods that help us relax, help us unwind, and in some cases, help us try and forget whatever it is that is stressing us out.

There are healthy ways to do this, such as exercise, finding a hobby, and talking to a close friend, and there are unhealthy ways, such as finding solace in recreational drugs or alcohol.

Neither of these avenues is healthy, and neither of these avenues is conducive to happiness, but for this particular chat, we will focus on alcohol primarily.

Did you know that alcohol is a depressant?

The situation usually goes a little like this – you’re feeling stressed out or upset about something, and you need to chill out, so you grab a friend and you go out for a few drinks to relax. The first one or two drinks really does the trick, but after that you start to notice subtle differences in the way you feel. Firstly, you might feel like you can take on the world, but you might then notice that your mood starts to decrease downwards. You have no control over the way you feel in the end, it totally depends on how you were feeling before you began drinking, and that intensifies after a few drinks. Of course, it might be that your mood lightens, and in that case, you slowly begin to think that you need alcohol to unwind.

A few drinks to chill out is not something to be concerned about every so often, but if you notice that you are needing it, rather than just fancying it, then you have an issue you need to address, perhaps before it spirals out of control.

Here at Trifecta Health we understand that alcohol addiction is not laughing matter, and we are committed to helping every single person who makes contact with any of our NYC offices, all under the watchful and very experienced eye of Dr Edward Fruitman.

We offer several treatment options for alcohol dependency, such as counseling and medication, combined together with a personalized treatment plan which is designed to be as individual as the person being treated.

The problem with alcohol in general is that it is so widely available these days, and once that slippery slope begins, climbing back up again can be difficult. Thankfully, that journey is not impossible, but it does take effort and it does take a lot of work. Our staff are highly experienced and approachable, and take every effort to ensure that patients feel comfortable and welcomed, as well as promoting a sense of positivity in the recovery process.

If you have been struggling with stress, perhaps leading to you seeking solace in alcohol, and you feel that you’re now beginning to struggle with a possible dependency, do not hesitate to contact us today – we are on hand to help you prevent an issue from further developing into something truly serious.

Get Help from Trifecta Health

“Help, I need somebody, Help! Not just anybody …”

The Beatles bopped along to this major hit back in the day, but perhaps they didn’t realize the profound effects of their words so many years down the line.

What is the hardest word for you to say?

Is it “sorry”, is it “please”, is it something else?

For many people, especially someone who is really struggling, the hardest word to say is certainly ‘help’.

Admitting that you need help is a strong thing to do; there is certainly on failing in saying “please help me, I’m struggling”, if anything, you’re displaying strong leadership and strength in yourself. For many however, that first step can be a difficult one to pluck up the courage to take.

“Help me if you can I’m feeling down …”

If you have ever suffered with the effects of depression, you probably couldn’t put your finger on how it felt; maybe you just felt sad, maybe you saw no brightness in the world, maybe you just felt completely and utterly dark and dismal. When you are struggling with these feelings, it’s difficult to seek help because you’re scared that your symptoms and feelings will be dismissed as just going through a tough time. The truth of the matter is however that you aren’t just going through a tough time, you’re struggling with a very real condition.

When you seek help, you will be greeted with a kind, warm, and helpful person who will talk to you and go through the treatment options. Here at Trifecta Health, we appreciate the struggle that many people go through in order to come to us, and we envy your strength and courage to do just that. From there, life gets easier because you are on the track to getting better.

“Help me get my feet back on the ground …”

We are committed to helping the residents of New York City gain the help they need, for whatever issue they are struggling with. Under the watchful eye of Dr Edward Fruitman MD, we offer a large range of different treatment options, all designed to be tailormade to your particular circumstances.

To give you an idea of what we offer, here are a few of our services, available at our 4 NYC offices:

As you can see, we cover a huge range of issues, so uttering that one syllable word, “help”, can open up a world that is much more positive than the one you’re probably living in right now. Don’t hesitate, give us a call today at (800) 385-3905.

Depression and Botox

Depression is one of the most common health issues in the world. The incidence of Major Depression is already extremely high and it rising- among women 20-26% will be diagnosed with major depression at some point in their lives. For men- the number is lower- but it too is climbing and 10-12%.
Therapies for depression are varied and range from massage to medication therapy. In New York City people have an advantage because there are so many treatment options available as opposed to rural areas where there may only be one modality available.

Botox is a treatment that has been used for years as an anti-aging technique, eyelid spasms, urinary issues, back pain, then for migraines, and now it is showing promise as an treatment for depression.
A meta analysis of 5 papers that reviewed three studies, shows promise that Botox injections in the face can lead to improved mood. Clearly, this is not enough data for Botox to be approved as a treatment for depression, but it does indicate that there should be more research done.

In the interim, it does appear that NYC Botox injections in the face by qualified practitioners can lead to improved mood as well as a more youthful appearance. Frowning less not only helped our patients relax and socialize , but also preventing direct feedback the nerves. And when you smile, your brain is fooled into thinking that it is safe again and its needs are met.

At Trifecta Med Spa, in NYC, our practitioners are highly skilled and are able to achieve optimal results. Why not have improved mood as well as a rejuvenated appearance. NYC Botox doctors and clinicians with Trifecta Med Spa will find the best treatment produce ideal results. NYC is the home to the highest quality medical practitioners, Trifecta Med Spa- among them.

ADHD Is Not Just Childhood Disorder

ADHD is not just a childhood disorder; frequently this disorder goes without diagnoses until adulthood and can have significant impact throughout one’s life, especially with respect to employment.

On average, an adult with ADHD earns over $4000 less a year than their non ADHD peers. They can also struggle with co-worker relationships, holding a job (being late, absenteeism, and frequent mistakes often contribute to individuals with ADHD losing their jobs), or job hopping. However, often, after diagnosis and treatment, workers with ADHD excel in the workplace.

Unlike children with ADHD, adults are less likely to have the “hyperactivity” part. They are more likely to be fidgety, feel on edge, or have trouble relaxing. Adults often feel relieved after receiving a diagnosis- they have an issue- that can be managed, they are not simply lazy, sloppy, scatterbrained or any number of labels that they may have applied to themselves or been called by others.

Often, after a child is diagnosed with ADHD, a parent will recognize symptoms in themselves which triggers an evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. ADHD is not something that develops in adulthood, symptoms have always been there, sometimes just well-hidden or well coped with. Another reason people seek evaluation and treatment for ADHD as an adult is workplace issues. Adults with ADHD sometimes feel they are not working up to their potential and feel very frustrated with it. Frequently, adults are thrilled with the success of treatment and amazed and their improved function.

Many of our patients are from the financial sector which requires a great deal of accuracy, meaning untreated ADHD can be a large obstacle however, we are experienced experts in initiating effective therapies to see positive results quickly. Since this can be a fast paced work environment symptoms can be masked. However, NYC psychiatrist Dr. Edward Fruitman is experienced at detailed evaluations to ensure accurate diagnosis.

Treatment for ADHD is multifaceted. At Trifecta Health Medical Center in New York City, we first provide an accurate diagnosis to the client. Edward Fruitman, MD is an adult psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of ADD/ADHD disorder. Since there is no single test that can diagnosis it, having a physician who is an expert is imperative to treatment success. As our clients are busy professionals in the metropolitan hub of New York City, Trifecta Health Medical Center offers a wide selection of appointments to fit busy schedules.
